Robert S. Throckmorton is a partner at Stone LLP. As a trial attorney, “Bob” has achieved fantastic results for his clients and has extensive experience litigating construction matters including construction defect claims, mechanic’s liens and construction contract disputes. He also litigates real estate disputes, business disputes and their related appeals.

One of Bob’s recent successes includes winning a $1,245,000 judgment for a contractor client, which was upheld after the opposing party’s unsuccessful appeals. In another matter, Bob protected his material supplier client from judgment in a matter that was published by the California Court of Appeal in Mesa Forest Products, Inc. v. St. Paul Mercury Insurance Company (1999) 72 Cal.App.4th 324, 86 Cal.Rptr.2d 398.

Bob has received a Martindale-Hubbell AV Peer Review Rating, in which ranks him at the highest level of professional excellence and ethics. For many years Bob has been designated Super Lawyer status (2013-present), by Thomson Reuters, which recognizes outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Bob also has an Avvo.com Rating of 10.0.

Bob received his Juris Doctor degree in 1995 from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Political Science in 1992, also from Brigham Young University. Between 1991 to 1992, Bob was a personal staff member for United States Senator Orrin Hatch.

Bob is admitted to the State Bar of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He is a member of the Business Litigation and the Construction Law Section of the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA), chairing that section in 2008. Bob is also admitted to the Utah State Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Utah. He is also a member of the Business Section and Construction Section of the Utah State Bar.
